The Catalan giants capitalized on Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Osasuna and Atletico Madrid’s similar stalemate against Celta Vigo, propelling them to the league’s summit with 51 points. Barcelona now leads by goal difference over second-placed Real Madrid and by a single point over third-placed Atletico Madrid.
