Al-Shabab Stun AFC Champions Al-Ahli with Commanding 3-1 Victory in Roshn League Clash

Al-Shabab secured an impressive 3-1 win over recently crowned AFC Champions League Elite winners Al-Ahli in a thrilling Roshn Saudi League encounter on Sunday night. The match, part of the 31st round of the league campaign, showcased Al-Shabab’s clinical finishing and tactical discipline, handing them a significant triumph over one of Asia’s top sides.

The home side struck first in the opening half, with goals from Mohammed Al-Thani and Abdulrazak Hamdallah in the 26th and 33rd minutes respectively, giving them a solid lead. Al-Ahli responded quickly through Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga, who reduced the deficit just minutes later in the 36th minute, setting up a tense second half.

Al-Shabab extended their lead in the 65th minute when Hamdallah netted his second of the night, capping a standout performance. However, his evening ended on a sour note after being shown a red card 12 minutes later following an on-field altercation involving several players.

Despite being a man down, Al-Shabab held firm to claim all three points, boosting their tally to 54 points and maintaining sixth place in the league standings. The defeat halted Al-Ahli’s momentum following their continental success and saw them slip to fourth place with 61 points.

The victory was especially meaningful for Al-Shabab, who not only secured a critical win but also did so against the reigning Asian champions, marking a memorable night for the club and their supporters.
