Al Hilal Dominates Al Khaleej with a 5-1 Victory
Al Hilal returned to winning ways in the Saudi Pro League with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Al Khaleej in the 22nd round. The win ended a three-match winless streak for the defending champions, who had previously suffered a loss and two draws.
The match at Kingdom Arena saw Brazilian star Malcolm shine, scoring two goals in the 3rd and 20th minutes. Salem Al-Dawsari also netted a brace, finding the back of the net in the 4th and 55th minutes. Marcos Leonardo added the fifth goal for Al Hilal in the 28th minute. Al Khaleej managed to pull one back through Abdulrahman Ateeq in the 65th minute, but it was merely a consolation.
With this victory, Al Hilal moved to 51 points, closing the gap to just four points behind league leaders Al Ittihad, who are set to face Al Khaleej on Wednesday. Al Khaleej, on the other hand, remained in 11th place with 25 points.
Al Nassr Reclaims Third Spot with a 2-0 Win Over Al Wehda
Al Nassr also bounced back to form, securing a 2-0 victory over Al Wehda at King Abdulaziz City Stadium. The win propelled Al Nassr back to third place in the league standings.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al Nassr with a header in the 48th minute. Sadio Mane sealed the victory in stoppage time, converting a penalty in the 95th minute. Ronaldo’s goal took his tally to 17 for the season, solidifying his position as the league’s top scorer, one goal ahead of Karim Benzema.
Al Nassr now has 47 points, while Al Wehda remains at the bottom of the table with just 16 points.
