Al-Ittihad on the Brink of Saudi Pro League Glory After Dominant Victory

The Tigers Need Just Three Points to Secure Their 10th League Title

Al-Ittihad took a massive step toward clinching the 2024-2025 Roshn Saudi League title after a commanding 3-0 victory over Al-Fayha. With just three matches remaining, the Jeddah giants are now within touching distance of their 10th league triumph.

French superstar Karim Benzema was the hero of the night, netting a brace to lead his team to a crucial win at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium. The victory extended Al-Ittihad’s lead at the top to nine points over second-placed Al-Hilal, who kept their slim title hopes alive with a 4-0 win over Al-Orobah.

Al-Ittihad (74 points) now need just three more points from their remaining fixtures to mathematically seal the championship. Even if they lose all three matches, their superior head-to-head record over Al-Hilal (68 points) ensures they will lift the trophy.

The Tigers can wrap up the title as early as their next match if they defeat Al-Raed on May 15 and Al-Hilal drops points. A draw in their final three games would also be enough if Al-Hilal fails to win all their remaining matches.

Remaining Fixtures
– May 15: Al-Raed vs. Al-Ittihad
– May 20:Al-Ittihad vs. Al-Shabab
– Final Matchday: Al-Ittihad vs. Damac

Al-Hilal’s Fading Hopes
Despite Al-Hilal’s recent win, their chances of retaining the title are slim. The Blues must win all their remaining games and hope Al-Ittihad collapses, a scenario that seems unlikely given the Tigers’ form.

Al-Ittihad last won the league in the 2022-2023 season under former manager Nuno Espírito Santo. Now, under new leadership, they are poised to reclaim their dominance in Saudi football.

With Benzema in stellar form, Al-Ittihad’s faithful are already dreaming of a historic celebration. The next few days could see the yellow-and-black brigade crowned kings of Saudi football once again.
