Alhilal Still Confident of Signing Mohamed Salah Despite Summer Transfer Hurdles

The Saudi Pro League remains optimistic about securing Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah this summer, despite growing uncertainty over a potential move before the Club World Cup, according to reports from The Telegraph

While Liverpool have reportedly offered Salah a new contract to extend his eight-year stay at Anfield, Saudi officials are still pushing to lure the Egyptian forward to the Middle East, potentially as a free agent when his current deal expires on June 30, 2025.

Al-Hilal, who lost Neymar Jr. to a long-term injury earlier this season, have identified Salah as their top target to lead their ambitious project. The club had hoped to finalize a deal during FIFA’s special transfer window (June 1-10) ahead of the Club World Cup, but recent developments suggest that scenario is increasingly unlikely.

Salah now faces a career-defining decision: stay at Liverpool, where he continues to break records and chase further glory, or embark on a new challenge, whether in Europe or Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing league.

The 31-year-old remains a key figure for the Reds, but with no agreement yet on an extension, the door remains open for a potential blockbuster move. Saudi clubs, backed by strong financial resources, are determined to add another global superstar to their ranks, and Salah sits firmly at the top of their wishlist.

As the summer window approaches, all eyes will be on Salah’s next move, one that could reshape both his legacy and the future of the Saudi Pro League.
