FIFA Unveils Record-Breaking $1.25 Billion Prize Pool for 2025 Club World Cup

The expanded 32-team tournament in the USA promises unprecedented rewards, with winners set to earn up to $125 million.

In a landmark announcement, FIFA has revealed the staggering financial rewards for the 2025 Club World Cup, making it the richest club competition in history. With a total prize pool of $1.25 billion, the revamped tournament will distribute $1 billion among the 32 participating clubs, while an additional $250 million will be allocated to global club football development.

Unprecedented Prize Money
The champion of the 2025 Club World Cup will take home a historic $125 million, eclipsing the earnings of any previous club tournament. Each team is guaranteed a share of the $525 million participation fund, with payouts varying based on regional representation and performance.

– UEFA clubs (including powerhouses like Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich) will receive the highest rewards, ranging from $12.81 million to $38.19 million, depending on rankings and revenue contributions.
– CONMEBOL teams (South American clubs) will earn approximately $15.21 million for participation.
– CONCACAF, CAF, and AFC clubs (North America, Africa, and Asia) will each receive $9.55 million, while OFC (Oceania) representatives will be granted $3.58 million.

Revamped Format & Global Investment
The 2025 edition, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, will feature a seven-match group stage and knockout format, ensuring more high-profile fixtures. Unlike previous editions, all revenue generated will go directly into club football, with FIFA retaining none of the profits.

Additionally, FIFA has introduced a major solidarity program to support football development worldwide. The governing body emphasized that its financial reserves will remain untouched, ensuring long-term investment across its 211 member associations.

A New Era for Club Football
Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, hailed the tournament as a “game-changer” for club football, stating: “This is not just about rewarding the best teams but also about reinvesting in the sport’s future. Every dollar earned will go back into football, benefiting clubs and players at all levels.”

With clubs set to earn more than ever before, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is poised to become the ultimate showcase of elite football both on and off the pitch.
