Gonzalez renews contract at Alqadsia.

Gonzalez started his journey with Aramco owned Al-Qadisiyah in October 2023, replacing English coach Robbie Fowler, with the goal of promoting to the Saudi pro league.

In June 2024, Mitchell extended his contract with Al-Qadisiyah for another season due to the positive results achieved. The team is currently in fourth place with 41 points, just behind third-placed Al-Nasr on goal difference and 8 points behind the league leaders, Al-Ittihad. Al-Qadisiyah also reached the semi-finals of the Kings Cup, where they will face Al-Raed for a chance to reach the final.

After the renewal, Gonzalez shared, “Having coached for over 18 years in various international clubs, coming to Al-Qadisiyah was a challenge. Initially, we didn’t want the club to be just another name in the success story of Saudi sports. We wanted it to be the success story itself.”

He further stated, “The Saudi league is very competitive and growing rapidly. Fans here are eager for success after its major revival. We have proved ourselves alongside the top clubs, showcasing great performance in both the league and the King’s Cup. But I wasn’t alone in this; the management, technical staff, and players were always there, giving me everything needed to create a team that’s developing and playing with strong unity at such a fast pace.”
