Spanish midfielder Unai Hernández expressed his joy after scoring his first goal for Al-Ittihad in their 2-0 victory over Al-Arouba on Thursday at Al-Inma Stadium in the 27th round of the Roshn Saudi League.
In post-match interviews, Hernández said, “I’m very happy with the win. We struggled a bit early on, but we created chances and managed to score just before halftime.”
The 27-year-old praised his team’s performance, adding, “We played well, staying solid in both defense and attack. This victory means a lot to us.”
Reflecting on his decisive strike, Hernández revealed, “When I saw the chance, I shot with all my strength, and maybe a bit of anger! I dedicate this goal to our amazing fans who supported us throughout the match.”
He emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, “Scoring feels great, it boosts confidence, but what matters most is helping the team win. Today, our collective effort made the difference.”
Looking ahead, Hernández stressed the need for consistency: “We must keep fighting and winning every match until the end of the season. We can’t afford to slip up.”
With this win, Al-Ittihad remains atop the Saudi Pro League table with 65 points, maintaining an 8-point lead over Al-Hilal, who have a game in hand, with just seven rounds remaining.
