West Ham United officially announced on Saturday the appointment of Portuguese manager Nuno Espírito Santo on a three-year contract, succeeding Graham Potter.
Santo arrives at the club shortly after his recent sacking from Nottingham Forest following a dip in results this season. Last season, he guided Forest to European qualification by finishing seventh in the league, in addition to reaching the FA Cup semi-finals. He also previously managed Wolverhampton Wanderers in England.
West Ham confirmed on their official website that Santo will lead the team for his first match against Everton on Monday in the Premier League.
The Portuguese coach expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m very happy to be here, and very proud to represent West Ham United. My goal is to work hard to bring out the best in the team and ensure the highest levels of competitiveness. The work has already begun, and I look forward to the next challenge.”
