Arsenal Crush Real Madrid 3-0 in Champions League Quarterfinal First Leg

Arsenal delivered a stunning performance at the Emirates Stadium, thrashing defending champions Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash.

Declan Rice was the hero of the night, scoring twice from two brilliant free-kicks (58’, 70’), while Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino added a third (75’) to put the Gunners in firm control of the tie. Real Madrid, led by Carlo Ancelotti, struggled to contain Arsenal’s attacking intensity, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois making several key saves in the first half to keep the scoreline respectable.

Despite efforts from French star Kylian Mbappé, who came close to scoring on multiple occasions, Real Madrid failed to break through Arsenal’s solid defense. The visitors’ frustration was compounded when midfielder Eduardo Camavinga was sent off in stoppage time.

This victory puts Arsenal in a strong position ahead of next week’s second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, as they aim to replicate their historic 2006 run, where they eliminated Real Madrid en route to the final.
